Is this Possible. I recently upgraded my ISP from Coax to Fiber, but I was not aware of CGNAT and it killed a lot of my stuff i had port forwarding mainly plex. Home Network Puzzle help needed Networking. Will this "ägent" stop this or again do I have it upside down My concern is some users are smart enough to change the DNS settings and if I am reading things correctly this would circumvent your DNS protection. Is this for install on the road warriors Laptops or do I have it wrong? You mentioned an agent being released, can you elaborate please The datasheet for this product does not fully explain how it will function especially for remote users on the road Then they can mess with it but they really don't need to.ĭrew we currently supply the webroot proxy service to customers and are aware of the impending change to the DNS protection We also like that Webroot is locked down unless we specically cave in to a customer demand for control. It is so easy to install we let our customers do it, but we really stress that they will think they failed! We tell them in detail how to see the round green icon in the System Tray. Webroot runs a fast scan that doesn't slow down the computer. The little round green icon in the System Tray is the only indication that they are protected. The problem with #3 is that the install is so fast that the customer doesn't think anything happened. Even a caveman or cavewoman can do it! And doesn't conflict with whatever they already have installed. The customers aren't interrupted and we are the heroes who educate them to what we (well, Webroot, but we take the credit) spared them from. Every once in awhile we see a red light and tell Webroot, yup, that was a bad guy. The control panel is so easy to monitor and the technology silently just fixes malware. It doesn't bug our customers: Maybe two false positives across lots of machines over a couple of years and they were a really obscure programs by developers who warn users to set antivirus exclusions.I especially like three things about it that cut service calls practically to zero minutes per month: We are looking to introduce web content filtering into our client base ![]() Looking for should be available come third quarter when the agent releases. Protects all the devices on a configured network. The 83Ĭategories can include security risks (malware, phishing, etc.) but alsoĬategories for content management such as entertainment or social media. This filters DNS requestsĪnd, based on the category, and provides either an IP address for theīlock page if blocked or, if allowed, the actual IP of the site. ![]() Have been trialing is a DNS filtering solution. Provides content based filtering (client available). Was in regards to our Web Security Service which is a proxy based solution that I like the simplicity of it but it is a bit too simple. Nic (Webroot), where is the client? I have been on the beta and test/trial and I see no such thing. ![]()
